WEG SSW900 Intelligent Soft Starter
Digital Motor Starting with Process Awareness and Cloud-Ready Connectivity
The SSW900 is WEG's flagship soft starter platform, engineered to minimize inrush current while protecting pumps, compressors, and industrial loads with adaptive algorithms. Built-in HMI, dual-port communications, and integrated protection relays allow Gross Automation to deploy SSW900 starters as standalone solutions or as part of PLC-driven architectures.

Request ToolkitSoft Starter FAQ
When should I use a soft starter instead of a VFD?
Soft starters are ideal for applications requiring reduced inrush current and mechanical stress during starting, but not variable speed control. Common applications include pumps, fans, compressors, and conveyors where full-speed operation is acceptable after starting.
What is the difference between SSW07 and SSW900 soft starters?
SSW07 provides advanced soft starting with HMI options and communication capabilities. SSW900 adds intelligent features including SoftPLC logic, Ethernet connectivity, integrated bypass options, and pump/turbine protection modes for critical applications up to 1400A.
